Flowering Shrubs for Every Season – Peggy Singlemann, RVA Gardner, LLC. Peggy is a familiar figure as the longtime host and co-producer of Virginia’s gardening TV show Virginia Home Grown on PBS. Peggy was presented a commendation by the Virginia General Assembly for her outstanding guidance, restoration and preservation of Maymont’s gardens over 38 years.

Herb Gardening for Medicinal Needs - Herbalist, Shauna J. Hooker, will present a program on the benefits of herb gardening for medicinal needs. Before clinics or hospitals, herbs were extremely important in treating different ailments of the body and mind. Choosing which herbs to grow, companion plants, and ideas on how to use those herbs will be suggested. Shauna will discuss making herbal preparations for personal use. She will share seeds from her own garden.

They believe every action taken within the James River water shed affects the bay, and every species that lives there.
