Creating Outdoor Containers with Winter Interest Cross Creek Nursery will inspire us to decorate outside our homes using containers with hardy plants that will survive our cold winters. Holiday Designs with NGC Frances Thrash of Virginia Beach, NGC flower show school instructor, will create beautiful holiday designs which conform to the NCG flower show requirements. Her designs will go home with the holders of the lucky door prize tickets.

Program:
Plant It and Forget It by Donna Cottingham, Virginia Master Naturalist. A plant is successful if it not only thrives over time but reproduces. Donna will teach us several approaches to gardening that can save us time, money and water. She will share some tools that help determine plant selection that go beyond whether a plant needs sun or shade. We will talk about specific plants, specialists and generalists, and weeds.

Program:
Thinking Outside the Box: Using Unexpected Items in Creative Floral Design by Kathy Ward of Salisbury G. C. and Richmond Designers’ Guild. Kathy will share her creative design ideas using items from the hardware, grocery or thrift stores. The designs will be given as door prizes. Fashion with Flowers will also be featured at this meeting.

Around the Summer House by Kate Vernon (The Arranger’s Workshop) and Louisa Rucker (a former member of the National Cathedral flower guild). Kate and Louisa will create designs for different rooms of the home plus outdoor areas like the porch or garden. Opportunity tickets will be drawn for the winners of the designs.
